Removalists in Redcliffe start with the building
Redcliffe is unusual for Moreton Bay. Across the region, 81.1 per cent of homes were separate houses in 2021. In Redcliffe, flats and apartments made up 37.6 per cent of occupied homes at the 2021 Census, alongside 51.4 per cent separate houses and 10.7 per cent townhouses and terraces. The first high-rise apartment building went up on Marine Parade in 1974, and high-rise and mixed-use buildings now line much of the coastline.
That makes the building the first question in most Redcliffe moves: is there a lift, how is it booked, and where does the truck stand? A foreshore unit and a low-set bayside house a few streets back need very different plans, and we quote each on its own access.

Foreshore units, lifts and body corporate rules
If your building is run by a body corporate, its by-laws set the rules for moving, and they apply to tenants as well as owners. Before you choose a date, ask building management:
- Which days and hours are removals allowed, and how long the lift can be booked for
- Whether the lift needs protective padding, and whether the building supplies it
- Where a removal truck can stand, and the height clearance of any basement
You arrange lift bookings, loading areas and any permits, and we plan the crew and start time around them. Older walk-up blocks put every carton on the stairs: apartment stairs are $48 including GST per flight of 10 steps, so count them at both addresses. Our guide to moving to an apartment covers measuring the lift and the route, and our apartment removals are planned around each building's rules.
Downsizing on the peninsula
Redcliffe's median age was 52 at the 2021 Census, and the average home had 2.7 bedrooms. Many moves here are downsizes: a family home into a unit, or a house into something easier to look after.
A downsize is a sorting job before it is a moving job. Measure the new place first, then decide what comes, what goes to storage and what goes to family or disposal. We can help at each step:
- Packing for the whole home, a few rooms or just the fragile and sentimental pieces
- Storage transfers when the dates don't line up, into a facility you choose
- Extra drop-offs on the same booking for pieces going to family, at $48 including GST per location
- Junk removal for what isn't coming, with disposal charged by actual weight and type
Our downsizing guide walks through it in order.

On and off the peninsula
The Redcliffe Peninsula takes in Clontarf, Kippa-Ring, Margate, Newport, Redcliffe, Rothwell, Scarborough and Woody Point. Two road routes link it to Brisbane:
- The bridges at Clontarf. The Ted Smout Memorial Bridge, opened in 2010, carries southbound traffic to Brighton on Brisbane's northside, and the Houghton Highway bridge beside it carries northbound traffic.
- Anzac Avenue. It runs 17.8 kilometres from Petrie to Redcliffe through North Lakes, Mango Hill, Rothwell and Kippa-Ring, and connects with the Bruce Highway.
Travel is charged either depot-to-depot from our Slacks Creek depot or as a call-out fee, depending on the job and location, and your quote states which applies. Additional travel charges for outer areas are confirmed before booking.
Moving elsewhere in the north? See North Lakes, Bribie Island and Moreton Bay.
Bayside homes and street parking
Away from the foreshore, Redcliffe is mostly houses. A few things decide how smoothly a house move goes:
- Where the truck parks. City of Moreton Bay doesn't allow vehicles to park on footpaths, nature strips or across a driveway, and heavy vehicles can't stop in built-up areas for more than an hour unless they are loading or unloading the whole time. Clear the driveway, and ask neighbours for street space the day before.
- Front steps and high-set homes. Count the steps at the front and rear. Stairs are charged at $48 including GST per flight, where they apply.
- Outdoor furniture and the garage. Bayside living means outdoor settings, bikes and fishing gear. List them so the truck is sized for the full load.
What a Redcliffe move costs
We charge by the hour and show the numbers before you book.
- $125 to $169 per hour + GST for a moving truck and two professional movers, depending on the type of move and truck size, with blankets, pads, dollies, straps and wrap included.
- $48 including GST each, where they apply: appliances, items over 90 kg, stairs per flight, an extra pick-up or drop-off, an extra trip, a truck-inaccessible driveway and hoisting.
- Travel: depot-to-depot or a call-out fee, confirmed before booking. Parking and permit costs are passed on.
A deposit secures your date, and we ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. See our pricing page for every charge. When you're ready, request a quote with both addresses, the floor level and lift details, and anything heavy or fragile. Our team aims to call new enquiries back within five minutes during business hours.
Before your Redcliffe move
- Ask building management for the moving rules, then book the lift at both addresses.
- Check the basement height limit and agree where the truck will stand.
- Count the stairs at the front, rear and in any walk-up.
- Measure your largest pieces against the new unit's lift, doors and rooms.
- Clear the driveway and ask neighbours for street space the day before.
- Downsizing? Decide what goes to storage, family and disposal before the quote.
