Removalists across the City of Moreton Bay
The City of Moreton Bay covers 2,042 square kilometres north of Brisbane. At the 2021 Census it had 476,340 residents, making it the third most populous local government area in Australia after Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Until July 2023 it was called the Moreton Bay Region, so you'll still see both names.
Council has three seats, at Strathpine, Caboolture and Redcliffe, and the region's suburbs group around them:
- Pine Rivers. Strathpine, about 21 kilometres north of the Brisbane CBD, plus North Lakes, Petrie, Albany Creek and the industrial suburb of Brendale.
- The Redcliffe Peninsula. Redcliffe, Scarborough and Deception Bay, facing the bay.
- Caboolture and the north. Caboolture, Morayfield, Narangba, Burpengary and Bribie Island, with rural towns such as Woodford and Dayboro inland.
Those are very different moves, from a lift-serviced unit on the peninsula to a farm gate in the hinterland. The rate stays simple: $125 to $169 an hour + GST for a moving truck and two professional movers, with travel confirmed before you book.

Houses, townhouses and planned suburbs
Moreton Bay is mostly houses, with a stronger townhouse mix than the state as a whole. At the 2021 Census, separate houses made up 81.1 per cent of occupied private dwellings, semi-detached homes and townhouses 13.3 per cent (Queensland: 11.7 per cent) and flats or apartments 4.7 per cent. Some 31.1 per cent of homes were rented.
North Lakes shows how much of that housing is new. The master-planned suburb began in 1999 on a 1,000-hectare site and had 23,030 residents by 2021. Westfield North Lakes opened in stages from 2003, adding Queensland's second IKEA store in 2016.
- Townhouse complexes. Check move times, visitor parking and whether a truck can use the internal driveway. Body corporate approvals are yours to arrange.
- Two-storey homes. Tell us about internal stairs and tight landings. Where a stair charge applies, it's $48 including GST per flight, confirmed when you book.
- Flat-pack furniture. Basic dismantling and reassembly is included, and the tools travel with the truck.
- Lease end dates. A deposit secures your booking, and we ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.
The Redcliffe Peninsula and Bribie Island
Redcliffe, about 28 kilometres north-north-east of the Brisbane CBD, was the site of Queensland's first penal colony in 1824 and has been a seaside resort since the 1880s. Its coastal strip now includes high-rise and mixed-use buildings, so a peninsula move can mean a lift, a loading bay and building rules as easily as a house.
- Apartments. Book the lift, loading area and move time with building management, and tell us where the truck can park. Our apartment removals follow the building's rules.
- Getting on and off the peninsula. The Houghton Highway carries southbound traffic and the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge, opened in 2010, carries northbound traffic across Bramble Bay between Clontarf and Brighton. Anzac Avenue links the peninsula to Petrie and the Bruce Highway.
Bribie Island is joined to the mainland at Sandstone Point by the Bribie Island Bridge, opened in 1963 across Pumicestone Passage. Its developed southern end, around Bongaree, Bellara, Banksia Beach and Woorim, includes retirement communities and canal estates. If you're moving into or out of a retirement village, check its rules on move times and parking early. Our packing and junk removal services can take much of the sorting off your hands.

Caboolture, the hinterland and acreage
Caboolture, about 44 kilometres north of the Brisbane CBD on the Caboolture River, is the northernmost urban area of greater Brisbane and the end of the suburban rail line. Its urban area takes in Morayfield and Caboolture South, and the D'Aguilar Highway heads west from there across the range.
Beyond the suburbs, Moreton Bay turns rural. Dayboro, about 47 kilometres north-north-west of the CBD, is a rural town surrounded by farmland. Woodford, roughly 25 kilometres north-west of Caboolture on the D'Aguilar Highway, hosts the Woodford Folk Festival over the New Year holidays, so check the festival dates if you're moving nearby at that time of year.
- Driveways and gates. If the truck can't use the driveway, we plan the carry and confirm the $48 (incl. GST) truck-inaccessible driveway charge before you book.
- Sheds and outbuildings. List the contents of each building, and flag anything over 90 kg so it can be assessed.
- Travel. Additional travel charges may apply for outer areas, and we confirm them with you before booking.
Business moves from Brendale to North Lakes
Moreton Bay isn't only suburbs. Brendale, just south of Strathpine and about 23 kilometres north of the CBD, is mostly industrial, with light industry, distribution centres and a business park. Strathpine has council's Pine Rivers district offices and Westfield's Strathpine Centre. At Petrie, the former Amcor paper mill site has become The Mill at Moreton Bay, where the University of the Sunshine Coast opened its Moreton Bay campus in 2020.
Office and warehouse moves are a priority for us. We plan them like this:
- Scope by area. Workstations, filing, stock and equipment, listed by room or zone, so the truck and crew suit the job.
- Access at both sites. Loading docks, roller doors, lifts and parking. You arrange building access and permits, and we tell you the truck, crew and timing to request.
- Outside trading hours. After-hours, weekend and public holiday moves are available, subject to availability.
- Clear boundaries. IT disconnection, network setup and licensed trade work sit outside our service.
See office removals and warehouse removals for the full process.

The Bruce Highway, the Gateway and the M1 south
Most Moreton Bay moves use the Bruce Highway at some point. It begins at the Gateway Motorway interchange at Bald Hills, about 21 kilometres north of the CBD, and is signed M1 north from there.
- Exits by area. Anzac Avenue for Petrie and Redcliffe, Boundary Road for Dakabin and Deception Bay, Uhlmann Road for Burpengary and Morayfield, then Caboolture and Bribie Island Road, and the D'Aguilar Highway.
- Into Brisbane. Gympie Road runs through Strathpine towards the northside, and the Redcliffe bridges land at Brighton. See our Brisbane northside page.
- To the Gold Coast. The M1 continues as the Gateway Motorway across the Brisbane River to Eight Mile Plains, then as the Pacific Motorway south through Logan to the Gold Coast. It's one road number, end to end.
Travel is charged depot-to-depot or as a call-out fee, depending on the job and location, and confirmed before you book. For moves further afield, see long-distance and interstate removals.
