Removalists in Norman Park, planned around your house
Norman Park lies about 6.3 kilometres by road east of the CBD, bordered by East Brisbane, Coorparoo, Camp Hill, Morningside and Hawthorne. It is mostly residential and mainly an interwar suburb. Substantial settlement began in the 1920s: middle-class houses went up on the ridges, while workers' houses and post-war Service homes filled the lower areas.
In the 2021 Census, separate houses made up 68.9 per cent of Norman Park's occupied homes, apartments 20.4 per cent and townhouses 10.6 per cent. More than a third of homes, 37.9 per cent, had four or more bedrooms.
If your house has been extended, raised or built in underneath, the moving plan has to follow the house as it works today, not as it was first built. Tell us which rooms are in use, where the newer parts are, and how you get from the street to each level. The rate covers a moving truck, two professional movers and all standard equipment: $125 to $169 an hour + GST.

Ridges, verandahs and front steps
Norman Park's homes date from the 1880s on. Lozelles on Norman Avenue, built in 1888, was one of the first houses to follow the suburb's early estate sales. Eulalia, a brick house from 1889, stands on a prominent hill with a wide verandah on three sides and slate steps at the porch. On Waldo Street, MacPherson's Outlook began as a private lookout over the Brisbane River before it was left to Council, a reminder of how high some of these streets sit.
High ground and old verandahs tend to mean steps. Before moving day:
- Photograph the entrance. Front steps, verandah access, door openings and any narrow turn just inside the door.
- Check the driveway. If the truck can't use it, there's a $48 (incl. GST) charge, and a longer carry takes more time.
- Count every flight. Where a stair charge applies, it is $48 including GST per flight, confirmed before you book.
- Judge the route, not the age. An 1880s house with a level path can be easier to move than a newer one at the top of a steep drive.
Wynnum Road clearways and side streets
Wynnum Road runs through the north of Norman Park, and on weekdays it's no place for a removalist truck. Council's clearway data shows clearways along most of Wynnum Road through Norman Park, operating from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday. While a clearway applies, no vehicle can stop there, removalist trucks included.
- Living on Wynnum Road? We'll look at a side-street position or a weekend move. Tell us about any side or rear access when you book.
- Elsewhere in the suburb. The standard rules still apply: no parking across driveways or footpaths, and none within 10 metres of an intersection without traffic lights unless signs allow it.
- Permits and costs. If parking needs a permit, you arrange it and any cost is passed on.
- Weekends. Weekend, after-hours and public holiday moves are available, subject to availability.

Labels that follow the new floor plan
Labels that describe the old house cause confusion at the new one. "Bedroom 2" means little if the new place has a study where you expected a bedroom.
- Name the destination room. Label cartons for the room they're going to, not the room they came from.
- Mark the big pieces. Tag beds, tables and wardrobes that need basic dismantling, and note where each one goes.
- Furniture before cartons. A short placement list lets us set the large pieces first, before boxes fill the hallway.
- Keep disposal separate. Clearly mark anything that isn't coming, or book it in for junk removal.
Basic dismantling and reassembly is included at no extra charge, so the beds we take apart in Norman Park go back together at your new home.
Unpacking the rooms you need first
The first night in a new house goes better with a made bed and a working kitchen. Our unpacking service can start there.
- Choose priorities. Bedrooms, the kitchen or a work area: tell us which rooms matter most.
- Room placement. We unpack cartons into the rooms you nominate and put furniture where you want it.
- Basic assembly. Beds, tables and simple furniture go back together.
- Cartons cleared. Used cartons and packing are taken away when we finish.
Some things sit outside a move. Appliance installation needs a licensed plumber or electrician, and we don't set up IT or home networks. Partial unpacking is available too, so you can keep the personal rooms for yourself.

Moving to or from Norman Park
Norman Park sits east of Norman Creek, which flows north through Norman Park and East Brisbane to the Brisbane River, with parklands along the creek on the suburb's western side. The Cleveland railway line runs through the middle of the suburb, with Norman Park station at its centre.
- Next door. Much of Seven Hills was counted as Norman Park until it became its own suburb in 2001. Camp Hill and Hawthorne also share its borders.
- Across Brisbane. We cover the whole city. See Brisbane southside removalists for the suburbs nearby.
- The Gold Coast and interstate. We move between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in both directions, and offer interstate removals.
Travel is charged depot-to-depot or as a call-out fee, and confirmed before you book.
