Removalists for both halves of Hamilton
Hamilton sits 5.4 kilometres north-east of the Brisbane CBD, on the Hamilton Reach of the Brisbane River. For a removalist, it works like two suburbs. Along the water, the old industrial wharves are giving way to Northshore Hamilton, a 304-hectare priority development area with more than three kilometres of river frontage. To the west, the streets climb towards Toorak Hill, 64 metres above sea level, with views back to the city.
The Census shows where most people live. In 2021, flats and apartments made up 70.0 per cent of Hamilton's occupied private dwellings, against 12.5 per cent across Queensland. More than 60 per cent of homes had two bedrooms or fewer, and 53.7 per cent were rented. With more than half of homes rented, plenty of moves here are tied to a lease end, often on a date someone else has set.
So we plan around the building and the block first. Is there a lift, a loading dock or a booked time slot? How many steps lead up from the street? Where can the truck stand? The rate itself is simple: $125 to $169 an hour + GST for a moving truck and two professional movers, with protective equipment included.

Riverfront apartments at Northshore and Portside
Portside Wharf mixes apartments with shops, restaurants and a cinema on the river. It was Brisbane's cruise terminal from 2006 until late 2022, when ships moved downstream to the new terminal at Pinkenba. Northshore around it is still filling in. In September 2026, Economic Development Queensland named five developers to deliver nearly 2,200 more homes there, with the first residents expected from 2031.
Buildings like these run moves on a timetable, so the work starts well before the truck arrives:
- Book the lift and dock. Ask building management for permitted move times, lift protection and any loading-dock booking, then tell us the window. We plan the crew around it.
- Check the clearance. Basement car parks are rarely built for a removalist truck. Find out the dock's height limit, or where a truck can stand at street level.
- Measure the big pieces. A three-seat sofa or a king bed base has to fit the lift car, not just the living room. We dismantle beds and tables when that is the safer way in.
- Plan both ends. If you're moving into another building, its rules apply too. Two booked lift windows on one day need a realistic gap between them.
Our apartment removals follow your building's rules, whether it's a one-bedroom apartment or a three-bedroom riverfront home.
Hillside homes towards Toorak Hill
Hamilton's western side is hilly. Toorak Hill rises to 64 metres and Eldernell to 60. Brisbane City Council's heritage record for Wunkoo, on Eblin Drive, describes an 1860s stone house on the slopes of Toorak Hill that gained a timber upper storey around 1919. Few houses are that old, but on a sloping block the moving problems are similar: more than one level, and a carry to the kerb that isn't flat.
- Count every step. Front stairs, internal stairs and the path down to the street all add carrying time. Where a stair charge applies, it is $48 including GST per flight, confirmed before you book.
- Check the driveway. A steep or narrow driveway may not suit a truck. If it can't be used, the $48 (incl. GST) truck-inaccessible driveway charge applies, and we plan the carry from the street.
- List by floor. Tell us what's upstairs, downstairs and under the house. It shapes crew size and loading order more than the bedroom count does.
- Flag the heavy pieces. Stone-topped tables, safes and solid cabinets over 90 kg are $48 including GST each, and we assess them before the day.
Our house moving service includes basic dismantling and reassembly, with quilted blankets, pads and ratchet straps at no extra charge.

Downsizing from a house to the river
Moving from a family home into an apartment is its own kind of job. The furniture that suited four bedrooms won't all fit into two, and the time to decide is before moving day, not on the footpath.
- Measure the new rooms. Get the floor plan and mark where each large piece will go. What doesn't fit can be sold, gifted or removed before the move.
- Clear what's not coming. Our junk removal takes furniture, mattresses, appliances and clutter. It's charged on time plus disposal by weight and type, with a minimum disposal fee of $95 including GST.
- Drop pieces on the way. If some furniture is going to family or into storage, we can add storage pick-ups and deliveries to the route. Each extra pick-up or drop-off is $48 including GST.
- Arrive organised. Our unpacking service places cartons room by room, reassembles furniture and takes the used packing away.
Kingsford Smith Drive, Racecourse Road and race days
Kingsford Smith Drive is Hamilton's main road. It runs along the river from Breakfast Creek, where it links to the CBD, through Hamilton towards Eagle Farm and the Gateway Motorway, and a major upgrade was completed in October 2020. Racecourse Road leaves it in Hamilton and runs 900 metres north, past more than 130 businesses, to Eagle Farm Racecourse.
- Into the city. A move from Hamilton to an inner-city apartment is a short drive. The rules at the other building usually take more planning than the road.
- Next door. Moves between Hamilton and Ascot or Hendra cover little distance but often run apartment to house, or the reverse, with different access at each end.
- Race days. The Brisbane Racing Club advises that Racecourse Road may be closed during the Stradbroke season and other feature events. Live near the top of the road? Check the calendar before you pick a date.
- Flights. Economic Development Queensland puts Northshore about 8 kilometres from Brisbane Airport, which helps if you're flying out once the truck is loaded.
- Further afield. We move between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in both directions, and handle interstate removals too.
Travel is charged depot-to-depot or as a call-out fee, and we confirm it before you book.
