Removalists for Bribie Island, one bridge in and out
Every move to or from Bribie Island uses the same crossing. The Bribie Island Bridge, about 832 metres long, opened in 1963 across Pumicestone Passage from Sandstone Point, and Caboolture–Bribie Island Road runs 19.2 kilometres from the Bruce Highway at Caboolture through Ningi and Sandstone Point to reach it.
The island's homes are in its southern townships: Bongaree and Bellara on the passage side, Banksia Beach to the north with its canal estates, and Woorim facing the open water. Nearly a third of the island is national park. At the 2021 Census, the Bongaree–Woorim urban area was home to 20,612 people, most of them in separate houses (73.1 per cent) or townhouses and villas (17.8 per cent).
We move homes on the island, between the island and the mainland, and to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Downsizing and the moves that come with it
The median age in the Bongaree–Woorim area was 63 at the 2021 Census, more than half of homes (53.7 per cent) were owned outright, and the island's southern townships include retirement communities and canal estates. Many moves here are downsizes: into the island from a family home on the mainland, or from an island house into something smaller.
A downsize is a sorting job first. Measure the new home, then decide what comes, what goes to family and what goes. We can help at every step:
- Packing for the whole home, a few rooms or just the fragile and sentimental pieces
- Extra drop-offs on the same booking for pieces going to family, at $48 including GST per location
- Storage transfers when the dates don't line up, into a facility you choose
- Unpacking at the new home, with basic furniture assembly and the empty cartons taken away
Our downsizing guide walks through it in order.
Retirement communities, villas and townhouses
Townhouses and villas make up a bigger share of homes here than across the region: 17.8 per cent in the Bongaree–Woorim area in 2021, against 13.3 per cent across the City of Moreton Bay. In Bongaree, semi-detached homes, terraces and townhouses were 28.1 per cent of occupied homes in 2021. Communities and complexes usually have their own rules for moving.
- Ask the manager first. Permitted move times, where a truck can stand, and whether residents or visitors need to be told.
- Measure the new rooms. Villas are often smaller than the home you're leaving. Check your largest pieces against the floor plan and doorways before moving day.
- Internal paths and stairs. Tell us about long paths from the parking area and any steps. Stairs are $48 including GST per flight of 10 steps where they apply.
Canal homes and island houses
Banksia Beach's coastal areas are canal estates, and houses there are mostly large: separate houses made up 92.8 per cent of Banksia Beach homes in 2021, with an average of 3.6 bedrooms. A canal-side home often comes with outdoor living areas, garages full of boating and fishing gear, and furniture that suits a big house.
We plan around the street side, where the truck stands, and the carry from there to each room. List the outdoor furniture, garage and shed contents so the truck is sized for the whole load. Fridges, washing machines and anything over 90 kg are $48 including GST each, and heavy pieces are assessed before the day. Basic dismantling and reassembly of beds and tables is included in the hourly rate.

Distance, travel and timing
Bribie is one of the further places we cover, so we're upfront about travel. It is charged either depot-to-depot from our Slacks Creek depot or as a call-out fee, depending on the job and location, and your quote states which applies. Additional travel charges may apply for outer areas, and they are confirmed before booking, not after. Time is charged in 30-minute increments.
Two things keep an island move efficient. First, be packed and ready when the crew arrives, because every hour on the job counts. Second, combine stops: collecting from a storage unit on the mainland or dropping pieces with family in Caboolture or North Lakes can be one booking, with each extra stop at $48 including GST.
City of Moreton Bay doesn't allow vehicles to park on footpaths, nature strips or across a driveway, so clear the driveway the night before.
What a Bribie Island move costs
We charge by the hour and show the numbers before you book.
- $125 to $169 per hour + GST for a moving truck and two professional movers, depending on the type of move and truck size, with blankets, pads, dollies, straps and wrap included.
- $48 including GST each, where they apply: appliances, items over 90 kg, stairs per flight, an extra pick-up or drop-off, an extra trip, a truck-inaccessible driveway and hoisting.
- Travel: depot-to-depot or a call-out fee, with any additional travel for outer areas confirmed before booking. Parking and permit costs are passed on.
A deposit secures your date, and we ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. See our pricing page for every charge. When you're ready, request a quote with both addresses, what's moving and any community rules. Our team aims to call new enquiries back within five minutes during business hours.
