Removalists across Redland City
Redland City runs along the southern shore of Moreton Bay, with Brisbane to the west and Logan to the south, and council has promoted it as Redlands Coast since 2018. It covers 537.2 square kilometres and had 159,222 residents at the 2021 Census, spread across mainland suburbs and islands.
Each part of the mainland moves a little differently:
- Capalaba, about 21.8 kilometres south-east of the Brisbane CBD, sits on the Brisbane border at Tingalpa Creek. It's a major commercial hub, with two shopping centres, a major bus station and industrial areas.
- Cleveland, about 25 kilometres south-east of the CBD, is the council seat and the end of the Cleveland railway line, with the Raby Bay canal estate on its waterfront.
- Victoria Point, a mainly residential suburb, and Redland Bay, further south, are both on Cleveland–Redland Bay Road.
- Birkdale, Wellington Point, Ormiston, Alexandra Hills, Thornlands, Sheldon and Mount Cotton fill in the rest of the map.
Wherever you are, a moving truck and two professional movers cost $125 to $169 an hour + GST, with blankets, pads, trolleys and straps included.

Redlands homes, from canals to bushland blocks
Most Redlands moves are house moves. At the 2021 Census, separate houses made up 83.9 per cent of occupied private dwellings, against 74.8 per cent across Queensland, and flats and apartments just 4.4 per cent. Some 33.7 per cent of homes were owned outright, above the state's 29.1 per cent. A home that has been lived in for years usually holds more than its owners expect, which is why we ask about garages, sheds and storage rooms early.
- Waterfront and canal homes. Raby Bay, built from 1983, combines canal-front houses with marina facilities. Outdoor settings, pot plants and heavy garden pieces are easy to leave off an inventory, so walk the yard before you request a quote.
- Bigger, greener blocks. Mount Cotton is a rural locality that has become steadily more residential, with conservation areas and koala habitat nearby. Long driveways and gates need to be on the quote. If the truck can't use the driveway, the $48 (incl. GST) charge is confirmed before you book.
- Townhouses and units. Body corporate rules, lift bookings and visitor parking are yours to arrange. Tell us the details so the crew and timing match the building.
Our house moving service includes basic dismantling and reassembly, and our apartment removals follow your building's rules.
Downsizing, packing and clearing out
Leaving a long-held family home is rarely just a move. It usually means deciding what comes, what goes and who packs it. We can take on as much of that as you like.
- Packing, full or partial. Our packing team can handle the kitchen and fragile pieces only, or the whole house. Bubble wrap and dish paper are supplied on request at no extra charge.
- Junk removal. Furniture, mattresses, appliances, boxes and clutter can go with our junk removal service. It's charged on time plus disposal by weight and type, with a minimum disposal charge of $95 including GST, and recyclables go to recycling where practical. Chemicals, gas bottles, asbestos, flammables and other hazardous materials are excluded, so garage and shed clear-outs need sorting first.
- Storage in between. If settlement dates don't line up, we handle storage pick-ups and deliveries. Each additional stop is $48 including GST.
- Unpacking at the new place. Our unpacking service puts cartons in the right rooms, reassembles basic furniture and takes the used packing away.

Moving to or from the bay islands
More than 6,000 people live on the Moreton Bay islands that belong to Redland City: North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah), Coochiemudlo Island and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands of Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra. Getting there means a boat. Vehicle and passenger ferries run to Straddie from Toondah Harbour in Cleveland, a ferry runs from Victoria Point to Coochiemudlo, and Redland Bay is the mainland port for the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.
An island move is a different job, and we don't publish a standard island service. If your move starts or finishes on an island, ask us. Tell us the island, the address and what's moving when you request a quote, and we'll talk through what's practical before anything is booked.
- Transport across the water isn't automatic. Ferry or barge bookings, timetables and their costs are not included by default.
- Timetables shape the day. Crossing times fix parts of the schedule, and waiting time is chargeable, so we plan around them.
- Size and access first. Mention how much is moving and the access at the island address, so we can tell you plainly whether the job suits us.
Offices, shops and light industry
Capalaba and Cleveland both combine commercial centres with industrial areas, and Redlands businesses move for familiar reasons: a lease ends, the team grows or a workshop needs more room. Commercial work is a priority for us, and we plan it around your trading hours.
- Scope by area. Desks, filing, stock and equipment, listed by room or zone, so the truck and crew suit the job.
- Access at both sites. Loading areas, stairs, lifts and parking. You arrange building access and permits; we tell you the truck, crew and timing to request.
- Outside business hours. After-hours, weekend and public holiday moves are available, subject to availability.
- What sits outside our service. IT disconnection, network setup and licensed trade work should be booked with your own providers.
Our office removals and warehouse removals pages set out how we plan a business move from first call to final placement.

Routes to Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast
No motorway runs through the Redlands, so the route depends on where you're heading.
- Old Cleveland Road. State Route 22 runs 19.3 kilometres from Capalaba to Stones Corner, through Chandler, Belmont, Carindale, Carina and Camp Hill, crossing the Gateway Motorway near Belmont and Carindale.
- Mount Cotton Road. It links Capalaba, Sheldon and Mount Cotton with Burbank in Brisbane and with Carbrook and Cornubia in Logan, tying the three cities together.
- Beenleigh–Redland Bay Road. It runs from Redland Bay through Carbrook and Cornubia to the Pacific Motorway at Loganholme, the way south to the Gold Coast.
Travel is charged depot-to-depot or as a call-out fee, depending on the job and location. Additional charges may apply for outer areas and are confirmed before you book. Moving deeper into the city? See our Brisbane removalists page.

- Decide what's not coming and book junk removal for it before moving day.

- In a townhouse or unit, confirm move times, lift bookings and truck parking with the body corporate.
- If settlement dates don't line up, ask about a storage pick-up and delivery.
