Removalists in North Lakes start with the size of the house
North Lakes is a planned community. Lend Lease and Lensworth began the master-planned estate in April 1999, planning for about 8,500 homes and 25,000 people, and Stockland bought Lensworth in 2004. At the 2021 Census the suburb was home to 23,030 people.
What that means for a move is size. Separate houses made up 84.9 per cent of occupied homes in 2021, the average home had 3.6 bedrooms, and 60 per cent had four bedrooms or more. A four-bedroom home with a garage and an outdoor living area is a big load, and the wrong truck turns it into two trips.
So every quote starts with the inventory: bedrooms, the garage, the alfresco furniture, the home office and anything heavy. Tell us early and we'll allocate the right truck and crew. Additional movers and larger trucks are available, with charges confirmed before you book.

Townhouse complexes and estate streets
About one in eight North Lakes homes (12.0 per cent in 2021) is a semi-detached home, terrace or townhouse, and many sit in complexes with their own rules.
- Body corporate rules. Ask the body corporate or on-site manager about permitted move times, where a truck can stand and whether visitor parking can be used. If you rent, the by-laws apply to you too.
- Internal driveways and tight turns. Some complex driveways won't take a removal truck. If ours can't use the driveway, the truck-inaccessible driveway charge of $48 including GST is confirmed before you book, and the carry becomes part of the plan.
- Two-storey townhouses. Internal stairs are part of almost every townhouse move. Apartment stairs are charged at $48 including GST per flight of 10 steps where they apply, so count them at both addresses.
- Estate streets. Cars parked on both sides of a narrow estate street can block a truck. Clear your driveway and ask neighbours for space the day before.
City of Moreton Bay doesn't allow vehicles to park on footpaths, nature strips or across a driveway, so the truck's spot is worth planning before the day.
New furniture from the town centre
The North Lakes town centre, bounded by North Lakes Drive, Anzac Avenue and the Bruce Highway, is anchored by Westfield North Lakes, which opened in 2003, and the IKEA store that opened there in 2016. If some of your furniture is flat-pack, from there or anywhere else, it needs a little extra care.
Flat-pack pieces were designed to be assembled once. Moving them assembled risks loose joints and split panels; taking them apart risks lost fittings. We wrap wardrobes, beds and drawers in quilted blankets and stretch wrap, and basic dismantling and reassembly, with the tools, is included in the hourly rate. Bag and label the fittings for anything you take apart yourself.
Buying a few new pieces and need them collected? Our furniture and small moves service handles single items and small loads.

Getting there: the Bruce Highway and Anzac Avenue
North Lakes sits on the Bruce Highway, with exits at Anzac Avenue (Exit 133), where Kallangur, Mango Hill and North Lakes meet, and Boundary Road (Exit 138), shared with Dakabin and Narangba. Most North Lakes moves to or from Brisbane use the highway and the Gateway Motorway, and moves to the Redcliffe Peninsula use Anzac Avenue.
Travel is charged either depot-to-depot from our Slacks Creek depot or as a call-out fee, depending on the job and location, and your quote states which applies. Time is charged in 30-minute increments, and additional travel charges for outer areas are confirmed before booking.
Moving within the north? We also cover Redcliffe, Caboolture and the rest of Moreton Bay.
Renting in North Lakes
More than a third of North Lakes homes (37.3 per cent in 2021) were rented, so many moves here run to a lease end date.
- Book early for month ends. Weekend and end-of-month dates are subject to availability, so request a quote as soon as your date is set.
- Plan the exit clean. In Queensland, the exit condition report is compared with the entry condition report, so photograph each room once it is empty and clean.
- Clear out first. City of Moreton Bay residents get free waste disposal allowances at council facilities, and our junk removal takes what you don't want to move, with disposal charged by actual weight and type.
Our moving checklist sets out the Queensland lease notice and paperwork steps week by week.
What a North Lakes move costs
We charge by the hour and show the numbers before you book.
- $125 to $169 per hour + GST for a moving truck and two professional movers, depending on the type of move and truck size, with blankets, pads, dollies, straps and wrap included.
- $48 including GST each, where they apply: appliances, items over 90 kg, stairs per flight, an extra pick-up or drop-off, an extra trip, a truck-inaccessible driveway and hoisting.
- Travel: depot-to-depot or a call-out fee, confirmed before booking. Parking and permit costs are passed on.
A deposit of two hours at your quoted rate secures your date, and we ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. See our pricing page for every charge. When you're ready, request a quote with both addresses, the bedrooms and garage contents, and anything heavy. Our team aims to call new enquiries back within five minutes during business hours.
