Beenleigh removalists, on the M1

Beenleigh is about 35 kilometres south-south-east of the Brisbane CBD, near where the Logan and Albert rivers meet. Established in 1866, it was once the seat of Albert Shire, and Main Street is still home to the Beenleigh Historical Village.

Our depot is in Slacks Creek, also in the City of Logan, so Beenleigh is local work for us. We move homes and businesses across Beenleigh and its neighbours, and between Beenleigh and Brisbane, the rest of Logan and the Gold Coast, in both directions.

Beenleigh has a wider mix of homes than Logan as a whole. At the 2021 Census, 62.4 per cent of occupied homes were separate houses, 19.0 per cent semi-detached homes, terraces or townhouses, and 17.6 per cent flats or apartments. Across the City of Logan, flats and apartments were just 2.7 per cent. The average Beenleigh home had 2.8 bedrooms.

• Units and walk-ups. Many smaller blocks have stairs instead of a lift. Apartment stairs are $48 including GST per flight of 10 steps, so count the flights at both addresses.
• Townhouse complexes. Check move times, visitor parking and truck access with the body corporate, and tell us about internal driveways.
• Houses. List the garage, shed and outdoor furniture so the truck is sized for the full load.

More than half of Beenleigh homes (52.5 per cent) were rented at the 2021 Census, so many moves here run to a lease end date.

• Book as soon as your date is set. End-of-month and weekend dates are subject to availability.
• Give notice on time. In Queensland, tenants give notice with a Notice of intention to leave (Form 13).

Beenleigh sits on the Pacific Motorway (M1), with exits at City Road (Exit 34) and Main Street (Exit 35), and the Logan Motorway meets the M1 just north at Loganholme. That makes Beenleigh moves to Brisbane or the Gold Coast straightforward by road. Beenleigh station is the end of the Beenleigh line, and the Gold Coast line runs through the suburb, with Holmview station also within it.

On your street, City of Logan rules apply. A heavy vehicle can't park for more than an hour on roads in built-up areas except while delivering or picking up goods. Clear the driveway the night before, and ask neighbours for street space if it's short. If the truck can't use the driveway, the truck-inaccessible driveway charge of $48 including GST is confirmed before you book.

Every item you don't move is time you don't pay for. City of Logan runs a scheduled kerbside clean-up: each suburb gets a two-week window, and each home can put out up to 2 cubic metres. It takes furniture and mattresses, but not fridges, freezers, TVs, mirrors or any single item over about 25 kilograms, and items can't go out more than a week early.

• $125 to $169 per hour + GST for a moving truck and two professional movers, depending on the type of move and truck size, with blankets, pads, dollies, straps and wrap included.
• $48 including GST each, where they apply: appliances, items over 90 kg, stairs per flight, an extra pick-up or drop-off, an extra trip, a truck-inaccessible driveway and hoisting.
• Travel: depot-to-depot or a call-out fee, confirmed before booking. Parking and permit costs are passed on.
