This policy explains how Brisbane Moving Company Pty Ltd (ABN 44 702 633 216) handles personal information collected through this website and when you enquire about or book a move.
What we collect
When you request a quote we collect your name, phone number, email address, pick-up and drop-off suburbs and preferred moving date. If you book, we may also collect addresses, access details, an inventory of items and payment information needed to complete the job.
How we use it
- To contact you about your enquiry and prepare your quote.
- To plan, carry out and invoice your move.
- To follow up if we can't reach you, and to answer later questions about your job.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Where it's stored
Enquiries are stored in the customer management and email systems we use to run the business. Some of these services may store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and limit access to the people who need it.
Website analytics
We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors use this website, such as which pages are viewed and whether a quote request is completed. This information is used to improve the site.
We use Google Analytics to measure page visits and website interactions. It uses cookies and similar technologies to recognise visits. We do not send your name, email address, phone number or quote details to Google Analytics.
We advertise with Google Ads. We use Google's tags on this website to measure whether people who click our ads go on to request a quote, and may use cookies to show our ads to people who have visited the site. You can manage the ads Google shows you in My Ad Center. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
We also advertise in ChatGPT. We use OpenAI's advertising tag on this website to measure whether people who click our ChatGPT ads go on to request a quote. It sets cookies (__oppref for 30 days and __obref for 1 year) to recognise visits from our ads. It doesn't send your name or quote details. It may include your email address and phone number in scrambled form: your browser turns them into a one-way code (a SHA-256 hash) first, so the readable details never leave your device and OpenAI can only check the code against details it already holds. Read OpenAI's privacy policy.
If you arrive from one of our ads and send a quote request, we record which ad or search led you to us along with your request. We also send Google a one-way hashed (encrypted) version of your email address and phone number, so Google can measure which ads lead to enquiries. If you arrive from a Google ad, the phone number shown on this site may be a Google forwarding number that connects to our usual line, so we can see which ads lead to calls.
Access and correction
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Email hello@brisbanemovingcompany.com.au and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Questions or concerns
If you have a question or complaint about how your information has been handled, contact us at hello@brisbanemovingcompany.com.au. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
