How much do removalists cost in Brisbane?

With an hourly rate, the cost of your move comes down to three things: how long the loading, driving and unloading take, the travel to and from the job, and any extras that apply to your property or items. Our hourly rates are $125 to $169 per hour + GST, depending on the type of move and truck size, for a moving truck and two professional movers, with blankets, pads, stretch wrap, straps, trolleys and basic dismantling included.

Worked examples of the hourly component

At our starting rate of $125 + GST and our top rate of $169 + GST:

• 3 hours: $375.00 to $507.00 + GST
• 5 hours: $625.00 to $845.00 + GST
• 8 hours: $1,000.00 to $1,352.00 + GST

Travel and any applicable extras are added to the hourly component, and every charge is confirmed with you before you book. How long a move takes depends on the volume of furniture and boxes, how far the truck can park from each door, stairs and lifts, and whether everything is packed and ready when the crew arrives.

Ways to keep your moving costs down

• Have everything packed, labelled and sealed before the crew arrives, or book our packing service ahead of time.
• Book lifts, loading zones and parking at both properties so the truck can park close to the door.
• Tell us about stairs, long carries, appliances and heavy items when you request a quote, so the right crew and truck are allocated.
• Clear out what you don't want to take first. Our junk removal can take it away.

Travel

Travel is charged either depot-to-depot or as a call-out fee, depending on the job and location, and your quote states which applies. Depot-to-depot time runs from when our crew leaves our Slacks Creek depot until it returns. With a call-out fee, the hourly rate runs from when we arrive at your pick-up address until the move is finished at your last drop-off. Time is charged in 30-minute increments. Additional travel charges may apply for outer or remote areas and are confirmed before booking.

Parking, permits and waiting time

Any applicable parking, toll or permit costs are passed on. Waiting time is charged at your quoted hourly rate where loading or delivery can't go ahead on time for reasons outside our control, such as keys not being ready or a lift not being booked. If delivery can't be completed on the day, your goods can stay on our truck overnight for $125 including GST, plus travel to and from our depot.

Deposits and changes

A deposit of two hours at your quoted hourly rate secures your booking and comes off your final invoice. The balance is payable on completion by cash, bank transfer, Visa, Mastercard or American Express, and any card surcharge is shown before you pay. You can cancel or reschedule without a fee with at least 48 hours' notice before your move. Cancellations with less notice incur a fee of three hours at your booked hourly rate.
