Pullenvale removalists for acreage properties
Pullenvale is about 19 kilometres by road south-west of the Brisbane CBD, in the southern foothills of Mount Elphinstone, which rises to 211 metres in the north of the suburb. It is a landscape of rolling hills, tree-covered ridges and bushland, and the University of Queensland's Queensland Places history notes that most allotments are acreages.
The homes are big. At the 2021 Census, 99.4 per cent of Pullenvale's occupied homes were separate houses and 85.6 per cent had four or more bedrooms. The average was 4.3 bedrooms, compared with 3.2 across Queensland, and the average home had 2.6 motor vehicles. Garages built for that many cars tend to hold a lot more than cars.
An acreage move is planned from the road in. Before we quote, we want to know about the gate, the driveway, every building on the property and what is inside each one. The rate is $125 to $169 an hour + GST for a moving truck and two professional movers, with larger crews and trucks available.
Gates, long driveways and turning space
A big block doesn't always mean easy access. A long driveway might be steep, unsealed or too narrow for a loaded truck to turn. Send us the details and a few photos up front, and we'll plan the day around them.
- The gate. Its width, and whether anything is overhead, such as branches, a carport or an archway.
- The surface. Bitumen, concrete, gravel or grass, and how steep it is. Unsealed driveways can be soft after rain.
- Turning space. Can a truck turn near the house, or will it need to reverse out to the road?
- The loading point. If the truck can't reach the house, show us where it can stop and how far the carry is. A $48 (incl. GST) truck-inaccessible driveway charge applies, confirmed before you book.
- The address itself. Rural driveways can be hard to spot from the road. A landmark, a gate description or a dropped pin helps the crew arrive on time.

Sheds, studios and outbuildings
On acreage, the house is only part of the load. List every building separately so the quote covers what is actually there.
- Garages and sheds. Workbenches, shelving, tools, outdoor equipment and stored cartons.
- Studios, offices and granny flats. Furniture and cartons in a second building may need another truck position or a longer carry.
- Equestrian gear. Pullenvale has a long riding history. The Moggill Pony Club, formed in 1961 and one of the oldest pony clubs in Queensland, has its grounds on O'Brien Road. Saddles, tack and stable furniture can be boxed and moved with the household.
- Heavy outdoor pieces. Gym equipment, stone planters, safes and large mowers are assessed individually. Each item over 90 kg is $48 including GST. See heavy item moves.
- Clearing out. Our junk removal service takes household items, furniture and appliances, with disposal charged by weight and type. Chemicals, fuel, gas bottles and asbestos are excluded, so drain mowers and set those items aside.
Big homes, big inventories
A four- or five-bedroom home holds a lot of furniture, cartons and fragile items. The surest way to keep the day under control is to stage it.
- Pack before the day. Our packing team can pack the kitchen, glassware, books and art in advance, so moving day is spent loading.
- Match the crew. Our standard crew is two or three movers. Extra movers or a larger truck can shorten a long day, and we confirm the setup before you book.
- Plan the other end. Label cartons by room, mark the ones you'll need first, and decide which furniture needs reassembly. Our unpacking service can set up the first rooms and take the empty cartons away.
- Pianos. Piano relocation is $149 including GST on top of the hourly rate, subject to an access assessment. On acreage, the driveway and any steps to the house are part of that assessment.
There is no fixed item limit. The truck and crew are matched to the volume, the weight and the access.

Travel, timing and the drive out
Moggill Road (State Route 33) runs through Pullenvale on its way from Toowong to the Moggill ferry, and meets the Western Freeway between Chapel Hill and Kenmore. Pullenvale State School, at 120 Grandview Road, and the Pullenvale Environmental Education Centre are both on Grandview Road.
- Travel charges. Travel is charged depot-to-depot or as a call-out fee, with extra for outer areas. Your Pullenvale travel charge is confirmed before you book.
- School times. Near Grandview Road, starting after the morning school drop-off keeps the truck clear of school traffic.
- Next door. Fig Tree Pocket, Indooroopilly and Taringa are all reached by heading east towards Kenmore and the city.
- Further afield. We move between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in both directions, and offer long-distance and interstate removals.

Before your Pullenvale move
- Photograph the gate, driveway surface and turning area, and note low branches or carports.
- Mark a safe spot for the truck and estimate the carry to the house.
- List the contents of each shed, studio, garage and second building separately.
- Drain fuel from mowers and set aside chemicals and gas bottles, which can't go on the truck.
- Note items over 90 kg, including gym equipment, safes and stone planters.
- Send a landmark or dropped pin so the crew can find your driveway.
- Decide what to pack ahead and which rooms to unpack first.
